Till & checkout
Barcode scan or fast SKU search, permission-bounded discounts, parked carts, and returns processed against the original transaction on a keyboard-first counter interface.
Retail tech
Zethic Point-of-Sale Application is a POS for retail and hospitality chains that keeps trading when the connection drops. Take split payments, track stock by SKU across every outlet, and close each shift against a counted drawer.

What it is
A till application plus the back office behind it: scan a SKU, apply permitted discounts, split tenders, print a receipt and process returns, all with the network down.
Stock is tracked at SKU and variant level across every outlet, and a shift cannot close until the drawer count matches expected cash or a manager signs off the variance.
Modules
One catalogue and one transaction ledger, so a sale in any outlet is visible everywhere.
Barcode scan or fast SKU search, permission-bounded discounts, parked carts, and returns processed against the original transaction on a keyboard-first counter interface.
curl -X POST \ api.zethic.io/v1/payments-split-tenders \ -H "Authorization: Bearer ***"
Cash, card, wallet, QR, gift card, store credit and account-on-file in any combination on one sale, with integrated terminals so the amount is never re-keyed.
Each till holds a local catalogue, prices and promotions, queues transactions with its own sequence, and syncs on reconnection with deterministic conflict resolution.
SKU and variant-level stock per outlet and warehouse, with reorder points, batch and serial tracking, confirmed inter-outlet transfers, and purchase orders reconciled to supplier invoices.
Declared floats, reason-coded pay-ins and pay-outs, blind drawer counts and variance thresholds, plus live sales, margin and Z-reports for head office.

Inside the platform
Three surfaces on one catalogue and one transaction ledger.
Keyboard-first scanning and SKU search, parked carts, split tenders and returns, all working with the network down.
One catalogue, per-outlet SKU and variant stock, confirmed transfers, purchase orders and live sales by store.
Declared floats, reason-coded pay-ins and pay-outs, and a blind count that needs manager sign-off on variance.
Why teams switch
What changes when the back-room server stops being the bottleneck.
Local catalogue, queued transactions and deterministic conflict resolution were there from the first commit.
Runs on Android tablets, Windows terminals or a browser with your existing peripherals and card terminals.
Only a token and the authorisation result are stored; card numbers stay with PCI DSS partners.
Catalogue import, opening counts, training and a parallel week per outlet, not every store at once.
How it's different
Where an on-premise till system starts costing margin at the second outlet.
A server in the back room, end-of-day exports, stock counted monthly, reports by email.
Offline-first tills, live multi-outlet stock, enforced reconciliation, one dashboard.
How it works
Import products, SKUs, barcodes, tax rules and price lists, then set outlets, tills, cashier roles and permissions, with opening stock loaded per outlet.
The cashier signs in and declares the opening float, and the till syncs the latest catalogue, prices and promotions to local storage.
Scan or search SKUs, apply permitted discounts, split tenders, send the receipt, and process returns against the original transaction as stock updates.
A blind drawer count is compared against expected cash by tender, variance beyond threshold needs approval, and queued offline transactions sync on close.
See it before you commit
One catalogue and one transaction ledger run all four steps, whether a till is online, offline or somewhere in between.
Use cases
Where an offline-first, multi-outlet POS pays for itself.
Tills keep scanning, taking cards and decrementing stock locally, and every queued transaction syncs when connectivity returns with no manual re-entry.
Zero lost trading time
The cashier checks live stock across every outlet from the till, reserves the unit and raises a confirmed transfer instead of phoning around.
Sale kept, stock tracked
Blind counts, reason-coded pay-outs and variance thresholds attach every shortfall to a named operator and shift within days.
Variance attributed same day
Promotional pricing is pushed centrally before opening, throughput holds on local SKU lookup, and head office watches depletion by outlet and hour.
Stock moved while it matters
Integrations
It connects to the hardware, payment relationship and accounting system you already have.
Security & compliance
A POS handles payments, customer data and every cash movement in your business.
Integrated terminals and hosted flows keep card numbers with PCI DSS compliant payment partners; the POS stores only a token and the authorisation result.
AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, and the local offline database on each till is encrypted so a stolen tablet is not a data leak.
Discount ceilings, price overrides, voids, refunds and drawer opens are permissioned per role and can require a supervisor PIN.
Sales, voids, refunds, overrides, stock adjustments and drawer opens are appended with operator, till, timestamp and reason code. Corrections are new entries.
Why choose us
A young product from a team whose usual work is payments and ledgers.
Book a demoThe same engineers build banking and payment platforms, so tender handling, reconciliation and an append-only ledger are the normal standard.
Local catalogue, queued transactions and deterministic conflict resolution were in the architecture from the first commit.
Runs on Android tablets, Windows terminals or a browser with standard peripherals and your existing card terminals.
Catalogue import, opening stock counts, staff training and a parallel-run week per outlet, not every store on one Monday.

Frequently asked
Still unsure? Send us the question you actually need answered and a senior engineer will reply.
Book a demoNothing changes at the counter: each till holds a local catalogue, price lists, promotions and customer records, so cashiers keep scanning, taking tenders and processing returns. On reconnection everything syncs with deterministic conflict resolution and the shift reconciles without manual re-entry.
Yes. A single transaction can settle across cash, card, wallet, QR, gift card and store credit in any combination, including across multiple customers. Refunds process against the original transaction, so partial returns and exchanges reconcile back to that sale.
Stock is tracked at SKU and variant level per outlet and warehouse, moved by sales, transfers, purchase orders and goods-received notes. Inter-outlet transfers require both dispatch and receipt confirmation, and counts post variances with an audit trail.
Yes, and deliberately not optionally. Shifts open with a declared float, pay-ins and pay-outs need reason codes, and close requires a blind drawer count against expected cash by tender. Variance above your threshold demands a reason and manager approval.
No. Card handling is delegated to PCI DSS compliant payment partners through integrated terminals or hosted flows. The platform retains a token and the authorisation result so refunds and reconciliation work, never a full card number.
